Finals...Check

Oh happy day, it is finally Christmas break!!! Finals were…well they are over, and that is all that matters!

I’m happily posting from a computer at home with Christmas music playing in the background, my dog at my feet, and a candy dish at my beckoning call. Yup, life doesn’t get much better than this.

Here are just a few pictures from the most recent happenings:

My roommate Jessica got married. So weird. But i am so happy for her (not to mention jealous. She is soaking in sweet, wonderful vitamin D, while i feel and look more like an Eskimo with each passing minute)!

Gift exchange/goodbye party for Jessica. By our "lovely" appearance you can tell this was smack in the middle of what i like to refer to as death...aka finals week.

Two words: Peanut Butter.

Other items of note lacking photographic proof...

1. "How do you know" is possibly the worst movie known to man. Don't see it! You have been warned
2. This morning i was walking my dog and i totally ate it. The worst part of it all was that while on the ground laughing i turned to my dog and exclaimed "Did you see that?!" sadly, she did not respond.
3. David Archuleta is the man. He can sing like nobody's business.
4. I LOVE the Riddle family.
5. It's snowing right now and i actually don't mind. Phewf...i said it. Glad i got that one off my chest.

Happy

Despite being up to my eyeballs in stress and studiousness, I feel strangely happy right now. Why? Because…

1. I got the CUTEST Christmas card from my sister and brother-in-law in the mail. My nephew Jayden is quite certainly the most adorable little child to ever walk the planet. Seriously, you could SWIM in his blue eyes

2. I just finished my PD Biology final—which I’ve been worried about since day 1 of the semester—and it went surprisingly well.

3. Its frigid and wet outside right now and I am INSIDE.

4. Its national CUPCAKE day.

5. I’m going back up to campus with a baggy sweatshirt on and very untidy hair. Sweats=comfy=happiness

6. I just ate a chocolate covered cinnamon bear. YUM.

7. Christmas is next week!

8. Ryan Reynolds was voted “Sexiest Man Alive” and I concur. Yup. 100% agree.

9. If you say “beer can” in a British accent it sounds like you are saying “bacon” in Jamaican accent. Don’t ask me why that’s been stuck in my head all week…finals delirium maybe? Thank you Jen

10. I will be done with finals in T minus 1 day…BOO. YES.

And that is why i am HAPPY!

Yikes!

Just a hunch, but I feel like this picture very accurately portrays what I’m going to be looking like in a week’s time.

I can feel it coming…

The bulging eyes from staring at a computer glow or text book for too long

The crazed look that screams lack of sleep

Complete and utter lack of hygiene because time only allows studying, studying, and studying.

And call me crazy but I think I can almost smell this woman’s bad breath through my screen…Don’t worry, I’m determined not to let myself get THAT far gone…

But ya never know with finals week.

And after a whole semester of looming finals, they are finally upon me. Here goes nothing. Be back in a week. Maybe!

let the festivities begin!

Christmas time is here which means that yummy treat making/consuming is also here. My roommate Leah taught me how to make Oreo truffles this weekend. Wow baby, those things are like little balls of heaven that turn into joy and happiness right inside your mouth. I think it is safe to say i devoured more than i actually gave out. Woops. Do i regret it? Not at all.

This weekend i also went with some friends to Temple Square to see the lights. You think that after all these years of seeing the lights that i would be sick of them, but i think i love them more and more each year.

Also included in the holiday festivities thus far: Gingerbread houses.
I would like to say that mine is the house displaying perfectly cut and placed gumdrop shingles; i would also like to say that mine is the house with candy cane lining and perfectly drizzled icing resembling snow. Unfortunately mine is neither of these; and due to my complete lack of craftiness, i created what looks more like a disaster. Yup, that right there with the so called "peppermint chimney" is my sorry excuse for a gingerbread house.

Better luck next year i guess!

Hallelujah

My roommate and i just spent the last hour trying to whistle the alto and soprano parts to the Hallelujah Chorus. You might think we are easily entertained...because we are. Considering the fact that i only FINALLY learned how to whistle last year AND that Jodie and i are known for our ability to laugh together for hours on end, I'd say we did a pretty good job...kind of...not really. Okay it was pretty awful. Jodie proposed that one day we learn the whole Hallelujah Chorus...yeah, that's going to take a looooong time.

Drip, Drip, Drip

Today was one of those winter days when the sun was shining so beautifully and the temperatures reached a whopping 50 degrees. Along with this warm weather surprise comes the inevitable melting of snow. Snow on the grass, snow on the pavement, snow on the roofs; and do you know what happens when the snow on the roof melts? Let me give you a hint…

Drip, drip, drip.

Not just little water droplets...big, fat water droplets, streaming from every roof of every building. Subconsciously you begin playing a game. It is a universal game that everybody knows the rules to because they are so darn simple: Don’t get wet.

In a typical round of the game you suddenly find yourself changing your pace as you approach the said buildings. You might even begin walking sideways in order to find the ideal location to embark on your journey toward the indoors. When you think you have found that sweet, waterless spot, you wait; and when that perfect moment arrives…you bolt. Your stride lengthens and your pace quickens. You might even duck as you find yourself directly below the roof edge. Like that’s going to do anything.

Plunk.

The second you feel that cold wet sensation splashing on your head, you sigh. It is a sigh of defeat because once again, the water droplets have beaten you at the game.

{Sophie}

My Dog...

May or may not have a bed in practically every room of the house

May or may not wear Juicy Couture perfume (thank you Lisa)

May or may not sleep till 11:00 a.m. almost every morning

May or may not have a new, chic pink parka

And my dog may or may not, scratch that, IS the most adorable dog on the planet!

Hardest thing about coming back to Provo: Leaving my little Sophie puppy behind

Also, it may or may not have been snowing ALL day...
