Penguins

Fact: There are way too many movies about penguins.

Does anyone even like penguins that much?

With the ever popular question “What is your favorite animal?” the answer is rarely a penguin.

So why, might I ask, are there so many movies about them?

And if you are thinking that there aren’t that many movies about penguins let me refresh your memory.

In 1995, the cinema came out with this gem

The Pebble and the Penguin:

Movie synopsis: A lovable but introverted penguin named Hubie plans to present his betrothal pebble to the bird of his dreams. Sounds pretty good right? No!

Scamper the Penguin:

I’ve never seen a powder blue or a pastel pink penguin in real life…have you? If the answer is yes... see a doctor.

Happy Feet:

2 hours of an underlying ecological message. No thanks.

Surf’s up:

Slightly comical but definitely overrated. And because penguins aren’t enough, let’s throw a chicken into the cast list.

March of the Penguins:

This film only reaffirmed how horrid the life of a penguin is. They are starving 98% of the time.Talk about a rough life...nobody wants to watch that!

And i am definitely not going to see this upcoming penguin movie:

To all you penguin lovers out there, I'm sorry if i sound a bit harsh. I didn't even realize how strongly i felt about this until i started writing!

But...

Still a Fact: There are way too many movies about penguins.

  1. Brianna you are completely leaving out the penguin of all penguins - Tacky - star of my favorite picture book. So as I was searching for it, I came across this beaut on youtube. This performance rivals the time I read the book in front of my speech and drama class in 7th grade the day after I got the contraption for my hurt jaw in my mouth that gave me the worst listhp ever! Check it out.
